Quiller goes corporate with Chandler
Lobbying firm shifts gear with hire of ReputationInc partner.
Lobbying firm Quiller Consultants is branching into corporate affairs with its first ever dedicated corporate reputation practice.
The Huntsworth-owned agency has set up the new division having recently hired the experienced corporate PR man Jonathan Chandler.
Chandler joined Quiller earlier this year after seven years as a partner at the PR firm ReputationInc. He has also held senior international in-house roles at The Coca-Cola Company, Eastman Kodak and British Airways and is currently vice-chair of the PRCA.
The move will raise eyebrows as Quiller is well-known as a high-end Westminster lobbying shop that has previously seen fit to focus on public affairs - and to largely ignore corporate communications
The agency has traditionally traded on its strong Tory links and has even seen two former staff – Jonathan Hill and George Bridges - going on to become Tory peers.
Quiller CEO Howell James explained the move into corporate PR: "Quiller’s longstanding reputation for understanding the world of government, politics and regulation is well known. But as we work closely with our clients from all sectors it’s clear that broader support across the wider corporate reputation piece is valued."
James, a former political secretary to John Major, added: “Whether it’s integrating reputation into business strategy, building powerful campaigns or coaching leadership teams, Jon’s track record speaks for itself. His wider business experience coupled with his extensive experience in corporate communications means he’ll add real firepower to our existing offering.
"Over the past two years, we have grown our senior team of consultants bringing in experts from across the corporate and political sectors. With Jon’s arrival we continue to grow and develop Quiller, offering our clients integrated high level corporate and political advice and campaigns."
Chandler said in a statement: “Quiller has a proven track record providing senior counsel for the most challenging and complex political, regulatory and reputational issues.
"I believe there is an unmet need for an agile advisory firm that can provide foresight, diagnosis and integrated campaign planning across the full influencer mix. I look forward to being part of the firm."
