Flello was MP for Stoke-on-Trent from 2005 to 2017

Former Labour MP Rob Flello has resurfaced as a senior adviser at London-based lobbying firm Brevia Consulting.

Flello becomes chairman of the agency’s transport division, as Brevia boss David Beamer looks to build up the new offering.

"During his twelve years as a Member of Parliament, Rob demonstrated an expertise in transport policy which will massively benefit our clients and help us grow the division," said Beamer.

The ex-MP enters the agency world after 12 years in parliament, during which time he served on the Transport Select Committee and established the Parliamentary Freight Transport Group. He also served as a parliamentary private secretary during the last Labour government.

Flello lost his seat to Tory Jack Brereton in the 2017 general election.

Brevia, which rebranded from PoliticsDirect in 2011, lists ten consultants and 20 clients on the latest APPC register. The agency provides support to a number of all-party parliamentary groups while current clients in the transport sector are Licensed Private Hire Car Association, RiverOak, which is looking to reopen Manston Airport in Kent and GoCompare, which specialises in car insurance. Previous clients include London Luton Airport, EUJet, and DX.

Flello said in a statement: "I am excited to have joined Brevia, which already has a strong reputation in the transport sector. I look forward to working with my new colleagues to develop our transport client base and provide expert advice and support to clients."
