Justin Ash to deliver 'ambitious road map of growth' in new part-time post.

Lobbying firm GK Strategy has hired the former boss of a leading UK dentist firm as its first chairman.

Justin Ash makes the move into public affairs after spending nine years as chief executive of Oasis Dental Care.

In that time, he helped grow the business to become the largest private dental provider in the UK, culminating in its sale last year from European private equity house Bridgepoint to Bupa for £835 million. Prior to Oasis Dental Group, Ash was UK managing director of Lloyds Pharmacy.

The 32-strong GK was formed in 2008 by Robin Grainger and Luke Kennedy. In the new part-time post, Ash will also oversee GK Strategy’s sister digital agency onefourzero.

GK Strategy was named consultancy of the year the 2015 Public Affairs Awards. A GK spokesman said that the appointment of its first chairman came after a strong financial year for GK and onefourzero, which saw the businesses grow in excess of 20% year-on-year for the seventh consecutive year.

Ash said: “I will be helping the businesses lay out and deliver an ambitious road map of growth and expansion in the years ahead as well as further strengthening their respective propositions, especially for the private equity community.”

GK Strategy CEO Emily Wallace said: “Justin’s appointment is a really exciting moment for GK and onefourzero his  commercial  experience  and  expertise will be invaluable in guiding us on our path to future sustained growth. We pride ourselves in being a really agile business that loves to offer new and challenging services to the markets we work in.”
