For whom the Bell tolls (to the tune of almost £4 million)
Former Bell Pottinger public affairs chief Tim Collins may have to raid his piggy bank...
Last year, former Bell Pottinger partner and public affairs chief Tim Collins joined forces with two other senior figures to set up a new agency called Vico Partners focused on "strategic communications consulting".
Meanwhile former Bell Pottinger CEO James Henderson set up a new consultancy, J&H Communications. He then hired former journalist-turned-Tory adviser-turned Bell Pottinger lobbyist James Chapman as a senior adviser, focusing on providing media relations and public affairs advice to clients.
What could possibly go wrong?
Now The Times reports that the liquidators of Bell Pottinger will pursue the former partners of the scandal-hit public relations company for payments totalling almost £4 million.
BDO, the professional services firm liquidating the PR group, will request from 90 former partners repayment of profits that were shared between them in the year before it failed, the report sent to creditors said.
